Learn from Dr. Janvier Gasana
Janvier Gasana, MD, MPH, PhD
Professor · Consultant · Occupational & Environmental Medicine Specialist · Training-of-Trainers Capacity Builder · Founder & President, GAPCI
Dr. Gasana brings decades of international academic, research, training, and consulting experience in occupational and environmental health, medicine, safety, and prevention.
A physician trained at the University of Rwanda, he earned his PhD and MPH in Environmental and Occupational Health from the University of Illinois Chicago. He has established environmental and occupational health programs at Florida International University and Kuwait University, designed an Occupational & Environmental Medicine Training-of-Trainers program in Qatar, and contributed to international health and safety initiatives.
His work has included research and consulting on lead exposure, asthma, mining health, occupational safety, waterborne disease, and environmental health, with engagements involving organizations and initiatives connected to the CDC, USEPA, World Bank, UK development programs, and USAID.
He is also active in international professional organizations and scientific committees, including ICOH, ACOEM/ICSOEM, and OSHAfrica, and teaches online through the Medical College of Wisconsin.
